Twila Paris - Warrior is a Child / Do I Trust You

Fight the good fight!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6: 10 - 19 The Holy Bible KJV

The Warrior is a Child
Words and music by Twila Paris

Lately I've been winning battles left and right But even winners can get wounded in the fight People say that I'm amazing, strong beyond my years But they don't see inside of me, I'm hiding all the tears
They don't know that I go running home when I fall down They don't know who picks me up when no one is around I drop my sword and cry for just a while Deep inside this armor - the warrior is a child.
Unafraid because His armor is the best But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest. People say that I'm amazing - never face retreat But they don't see the enemies that lay me at His feet.
They don't know that I go running home when I fall down They don't know who picks me up when no one is around I drop my sword and look up for a smile 'Cause deep inside this armor...
Deep inside this armor... Deep inside this armor... The warrior is a child.

I'm Not Who I Was (KXOJ Version #3)

There Was a Time
I do not know why Bad things happen to good people! I only know I am not the one who made all these bad things happen. I am not the sinner Lord! Why am I the one being punished? There was a time when those words crept into my heart perhaps even into my very spirit. I know I am not alone in that line of thinking others have asked me the same thing again and again.
Sin to me was a naughty word and I didn’t want my name attached to it in anyway not even at the sake of my own Salvation it took sheer desperation on my part the wanting to give my Family all that I never felt I had “The missing link” if you will to their happiness and mine.
I realized until I was happy with myself and Loved myself I would remain untouchable to the ones I loved the most so I swallowed the last bit of my pride, surrendered the last bit of control I had over me and I got me knees and I prayed.....

Sinner’s Prayer- That’s Not for Me!
“I’m not a sinner” -“I don’t go around sinning”-”I’ve never murdered anyone, I’m not like that!” Sinner is a word that gets a bad rap these days, as well it should but unfortunately, the bad rap it is getting is for the wrong reasons. Confronted with our shortcomings, we are quick to defend ourselves and because of that, we often don’t dig deep enough to see what the word says about sin. Sin simply means to miss the mark, fall short of your goal; it shouldn’t mean that some Christian stands in judgment of you waiting to hang a scarlet letter around your neck. The fact is we are all sinners for there is no one but our Lord Jesus Christ who lived a life that did not fall short of the Perfection God requires. We all deserve to pay the penalty for sin, which is to spend eternity in Hell.
Sin, according to the Bible, is any action that violates the law given by God in the Ten Commandments. A law given with the purpose of showing what it means to live a life deserving of God’s love. It was also given to show us that none of us could live that kind of life. God knew that in advance and that is why he sent his Son Jesus to be that perfect life for us! Jesus, God in human flesh, voluntarily laid aside His God-hood to connect with us, to show us that he understands us, and to give us a way to be reconciled to the Father, since none of us can keep the law to its letter.
“For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
Sin may be something we cannot be free of, but we can be free of its penalty.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
As long as we are content to live our life in sin, the bible says we are separated from God. That may seem okay for you for now but it ultimately leads to misery and then to eternal separation from God.
“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death”(Proverbs 16:25).
The good news is that God Himself has made a way to be reconciled to Him, and He has done this through His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:6-15).
Are you content living your life for yourself, being the best for you, getting the most for you and dying anyway? Or do you want a life of hope? God, the one who created you, has a purpose for your life and wants to give you a new beginning. If you are ready to admit your need for a clean slate in life, the God of second chances is waiting to give it to you; ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK!

Are you ready? Is it time to be free at last?
Father God, I believe in you; I know that you are the Son of God, that you died for my sins, and that you were buried and rose again. Father, I am sorry for the things I have done to hurt you; I want to turn away from the sinful ways of my past. Please forgive me of all my sins. Come into my heart, take charge of my life and make me be the person you would have me be. Cleanse my heart, Father, with Your blood. You are my Lord and Savior. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and have your way. In Jesus’ Name, I give you thanks and all the praise and glory. AMEN!
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38)
As you grow closer to Jesus, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment as Christians, so I encourage you to:
1) Get baptized as commanded by Christ.
2) Tell someone else of your new faith in Christ.
3) Spend time with God each day.
4) Develop a daily habit of prayer.
5) Read his word.
6) Ask God to increase your faith and understanding of the Bible.
7) Seek fellowship with other Christians.
8) Develop a support group of Christian friends to answer your questions and support you.
9) Find a local church where you can worship God!
